This Month in Marine Lodge History

On May 5, 1899 (from the Falmouth Enterprise):

Resolutions of Marine Lodge, F. & A. M., on the Death of Emerson D. Hatch.

WHEREAS, it has pleased Almighty God in His infinite wisdom to cut the brittle thread of life which bound Emerson D. Hatch in brotherly love and friendship to the members of Marine Lodge, therefore be it resolved at the Regular Communication held on May 1st, 1899:—

That in the death of Brother Hatch Marine Lodge has lost a member, who ever walked and wrought in this community as a just and upright man, reflecting credit upon the institution, which he loved, and the principles of which he loved, and the principles of which he sought to practice in an energetic business life.

That the members of Marine Lodge extend to the family of our deceased brother their tenderest sympathy by reminding them that consolation can be found only in the great books of nature and revelation, and in the hope of a glorious immortality. That these resolutions be spread upon the records of Marine Lodge, that they be printed in the local paper and that copies be sent to the family.
